Post War photo and reunion expert to speak at Round Table
Franklin,TN-The Franklin Civil War Round Table is proud to present, Vann Martin, a nationally known expert on post war memorabilia and rare period photographs, Sunday, May 10th at the Williamson County Library. A native of Memphis who attended the University of Tennessee, Vann achieved career success as a senior automotive finance executive and has been listed in “Who’s Who of American Business Leaders.”
In 2001 he established The Veteran’s Attic and is considered a national expert in United Confederate Veteran and Grand Army of the Republic memorabilia. In his now full time avocation, some of his clients include The Tennessee State Museum, The Chattanooga Regional History Museum, Chickamauga National Military Park, and the Arkansas State Historical Museum, to name just a few. His photography collections have been used in Time Life Civil War publications as well as numerous other books.
Vann is a former President of the Civil War Round Table of Jackson, Mississippi, and he has been instrumental in the creation of our Franklin group. You will find his sample collection of photos and reunion badges fascinating as he shares with us his knowledge of the reunion “culture” that existed for decades after the war. His artifacts and photographs are truly amazing pieces of American history.
